Hello Louisiana!

I finally decided to start blogging to keep our far away friends and family up to date with our new life and adventures in Louisiana! As newlyweds we've been pretty busy, we got married & moved to Louisiana, got our new puppy, and have been settling into our new home along with balancing school and work! So far we've had so much fun and are enjoying our new life together.

Since we moved to Louisiana, we've been in hopes of seeing an alligator. We have lots of swampy land by our home, but supposedly the alligators won't be active until it warms up some more.

This past weekend we had some visitors from Oklahoma. Josh's Mom, little sisters, Mimi, and Pepsi came to see our new home. On Saturday, we celebrated Mimi's birthday at one of our favorite local restaurants, Superior's Grille. On Sunday, we went to Gators and Friends Alligator Park and Exotic Zoo. We finally got to see some alligators and feed some animals (poor Leyla didn't get to tag along).

Most of the alligators were enjoying bathing in the sun.

Some of the alligators cooled off by going for a swim.

After checking out the alligators, we went to feed the exotic animals.

How cute is the baby zebra?

The zoo had all sorts of animals, like oxen and llamas.

One of my favorite animals was the capybara, the worlds largest rodent.

After we fed the animals, we got to hold a baby alligator!

After seeing all the alligators, I hope we won't run in to one close to our home-especially this big guy!
